Job Description
This position is responsible for manually auditing locate ticket charges within a three to four week period from contractor monthly invoices. This position will be assigned to audit specific areas of the clients three regions and required to audit the invoices for that respective area's portion of more than 3-million locate ticket charges based on the contract terms to identify, record, and report incorrect charges with penalties found. This position provides the information and justification of manual audit findings (penalties) broken down by charges, invoice number, penalty type, clients member code, region and state from services non-compliant with contract terms and agreements. The audit findings are also utilized to identify trends and operational opportunities for the contractor to improve services for the client. Work within a collaborative, team environment and contribute to the successful execution of operational and financial audits and consulting engagements, including delivering high quality audit documentation and audit deliverables. Gather and analyze data, using reasoning and logic, and draw appropriate conclusions. Evaluate the design and effectiveness of processes with an appropriate level of professional skepticism. Monitor and track the status of post-audit action plans and perform follow-up procedures to validate implementation and risk mitigation. Build and maintain effective relationships with within the team and Client. Develop and maintain current knowledge of matters impacting the energy industry and the company.
Job Requirements
• Education Requirement: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance or audit-related degree is mandatory.
• Years of Experience: 0-5 years
• Internal and/or external auditing experience, preferably from a large public accounting and/or other consulting/professional services firm.
• Holds or is working towards CPA or other certification (e.g., CIA, CFE, Six Sigma)
