Job Description
Business Analyst – Energy Efficiency (Hybrid)
Pay: $29.00-$39.00 per hour DOE
Location: Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC (Hybrid)
Overview
We are seeking a Business Analyst to support the Non-Residential Energy Efficiency portfolio, with a strong focus on data analysis, energy usage calculations, and savings validation. This role plays a key part in ensuring regulatory compliance, accurate performance metrics, improved customer experience, and strong financial outcomes.
The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working cross-functionally with program leaders, engineers, vendors, and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Analyze data, calculations, and metrics related to energy usage and energy savings
Support regulatory compliance and accurate reporting across energy efficiency programs
Review program performance, forecasts, schedules, systems, and workflows to identify improvement opportunities
Evaluate application flow, program status, escalations, and overall portfolio performance
Recommend business and process improvements that align with program goals and customer needs
Act as a primary point of contact for the team and support stakeholders across functions
Manage end-to-end customer and contractor application processes
Lead troubleshooting efforts for system issues and application challenges
Serve as a subject matter expert for program processes, tools, and communications
Collaborate with building owners, architects, contractors, and engineers to understand energy conservation goals
Manage a portfolio of projects at varying stages of completion
Track, report, and escalate system and process issues as appropriate
Qualifications
Proven experience reviewing and analyzing energy usage and savings data
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects across different jurisdictions
Experience working with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
Familiarity with energy efficiency programs, utility programs, or regulatory environments preferred
