Job Description:

The main responsibility of the Water Distribution Operator will be cleaning and video inspecting the housing sewer laterals with a hydro jet cleaning equipment and video camera equipment.

Assists in cleaning the sludge drying beds. Load, unload, haul biosolids to the local landfill.

Assists in repairing water line breaks and clogged sewer laterals/mains.

Inspect, repair, and maintain free flowing conditions in sewer lines, drains.

If appropriate adjust manholes; patch streets and sidewalks; and erect and repair fences.

Inspect, clean and perform a variety of semi-skilled work in the maintenance, servicing and care of equipment, vehicles, tools, pumps and other mobile and stationary equipment.

Uses materials, supplies and hand or power tools.

Maintains records and logs of work activities.

Performs other duties as required.


High school diploma or GED

An active California Commercial Driver's License with tank and air break


Water Distribution Grade III (D3) issued by CDPH/SWRCB preferred

Sewer Collection System Operator Grade I issued by CWEA

Strong Health and Safety experience/educational background
