Job Description:

This position is in a 3PL warehouse facility in Fairburn, GA.

The Quality Engineer will review suspected nonconforming material against design data to confirm or refute nonconformance.

Initiate re-inspection requests for confirmed nonconforming material when populations are suspect.

Initiate discrepancy reports for confirmed nonconforming material.

Provide training and guidance to 3PL Inspectors.

Act as liaison between the 3PL and Quality teams.

Collect and analyze data.

Represent Quality at Corrective Action Board meetings.

Audit the distribution center Quality System processes and testing logs.

Assign and follow up on corrective action requests for audit findings and quality system escapes.

Work with teams to perform root cause analysis, and determine effective corrective action for any confirmed quality system escapes.

Perform customer review and approval of corrective actions taken by 3PL supplier.

Work with teams to evaluate and improve efficiency and effectiveness of processes.

Review system processing problems and correct data or system setting errors as necessary.

Review unqualified material for controlled release and provide documentation in accordance with procedures.

Attend daily status meetings to ensure quality issues are resolved in a timely manner in order to prevent aging

Investigate of reported quality issues as necessary.

                                     

Qualifications:

Bachelors' Degree required

A minimum of 5 years' previous experience

Previous experience in aviation highly preferred.

Drawing/Blueprint reading

Technical Specification reading/interpretation

Experienced in measuring parts to validate conformance to drawings and specifications.

Experienced in evaluating the output of various special processes

Plating (cadmium, chrome, etc.)

Anodic coatings

Shot peened surfaces

Heat treatment

Surface treatments/coatings (Dow 17, primers, paints, dry film lubricants, passivation, etc)

Performing root cause analysis and corrective action

Mistake-proofing

Experience working with different commodities (machined parts, formed parts, electronics, hydraulics, elastomerics, composites, gears, bearings, hoses, tubes, etc.)
