Job Description:

The Production Planner plans, schedules and monitors the movement of materials through the production cycle to determine required materials.

Supports new product integration into the business including input of new part planning parameters and support of new product initial build plans and schedules.

Perform detailed scheduling and manage timely release of production orders to the shop floor.

Utilizes engineering demands and production schedules to maintain inventory at planned levels.

Calculate, implement, and maintain Kanban levels as necessary.

Identifies and resolves issues affecting schedule such as overdue orders, shortages, production delays, etc. by participating in daily Gemba walks.

Participates in projects and/or Kaizen events related to areas of responsibility.

Inputs and maintains forecasts and schedules for Master Production Schedule Products.

Coordinate with Sales, Marketing, Production, and Purchasing to ensure the demand schedule is met through participation in monthly S&OP meetings.

Responsible for communicating all information relative to assigned product lines.

Responsible for service levels, establishing and communicating firm equipment and parts lead times, and optimal machine resource utilization.

Qualifications:

BS degree or equivalent.

APICS certification, highly desired.

Minimum of 5-7 years of hands-on experience in a Planning role, preferably in a discrete manufacturing environment.

Experience with Infor/Visual Manufacturing, or SAP; Visual preferred

Experience with Lean manufacturing principles is a plus.

Goal oriented and self-motivated.

Excellent planning skills and detail oriented.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Minimum intermediate level skills in MS Excel.
