Job Description:

The Industrial Painter performs skilled work in treatment and prevention of corrosion on all facilities systems both interior and exterior as well as other related work as required.

Responsible for the removal of rust and other forms of corrosion by pressure washing, steam cleaning, use of power tools and/or hand tools.

Responsible for applying coatings and treatments for the prevention of corrosion on all facilities system both interior and exterior of a wide variety of industrial equipment.

Maintain complete equipment records and documentation related to tests, maintenance, modifications, and repairs.

Assist in identifying and maintaining an adequate supply of spare parts in a cost efficient manner.

Assist in maintaining clean, orderly and hazard-free work areas.


High school diploma or GED

Experienced in the treatment (proper cleaning, spot preparations, primer, top coats, mastic, and top coats of mastic, cold galvanizing, caulking, sealants and insulation as well as the application in a variety of applicable coatings) and prevention of corrosion on all facility systems in a variety of materials.

Ability to perform tasks incidental to corrosion work i.e. minor cleaning, light millwright electrical and mechanical work, safety inspections and other work as assigned.

Computer literacy required.

Oral and writing skills must be sufficient to effectively communicate among a diverse audience including other crafts, management and customers. 

Valid Florida driver’s license

Ability to obtain and maintain any required security clearance including any future requirements or changes.

Ability to read and understand Safety Data Sheets, product data sheets, technical manuals and prints, ability to do various forms of paperwork (written), possess adequate math skills commensurate with the requirements of the trade.
