Painter (II/3rd shift)

This is a 3rd shift position-10:00 pm-6:00 am
Ability to work adjusted schedules during extreme weather events. Weekend, holiday, and alternate shift work may be required in order to meet client requirements.
The Painter prepares, primes, sands, seals, and patches surfaces before painting to include furniture, surfaces, buildings, and fixtures utilizing all types of painting materials such as varnish, lacquer, shellac, enamel, latex, epoxy, water-proofing and heat resistant finishes.
Prepares, primes, sands, and applies chemical resistive paints, epoxies, and coatings in areas containing chemical storage.
Tapes, flushes, repairs and applies texturing, wallpaper, and acoustic layers on a variety of surfaces.
Adjusts colors when necessary; utilizes enhanced finishing skills when appropriate.
Applies materials to new construction, existing, multi-story buildings, alterations, remodeling, and facilities equipment.
Graffiti response and removal using a variety of available products and soda blasting.
Operates, cleans and maintains all painting equipment, including brush, roll, sprayers and electrostatic sprayers, pumps, etc.
Safely stores and labels all materials.
Estimates time and materials required; submits work order response, labor and description of work performed through the project CMMS.
Erects scaffolding, rigging and ladders as necessary in a manner consistent with safety codes and company safety requirements.
Offers assistance and advice on materials, designs, and color.
Responds to routine and emergency calls for repairs and service. 1
May train and direct the work of other classified staff in the area.
Assists and serves as back up to other Facility Maintenance employees. Works closely with site Safety Manager to confirm work pre-task plans are submitted & reviewed in a timely manner when required.
High School Diploma or GED required
3 - 5 years as a journey-level painter in a commercial, industrial, or facility setting, both interior and exterior.
Valid driver’s license with ability to be covered by the liability insurance carrier.
Commercial/industrial practices and processes of the painting trade
Paints, varnishes, lacquers, enamels, epoxies, paint removers, and related materials, and of their properties and application
Applicable code requirements; methods and practices followed in the maintenance of tools, machinery, and equipment
Occupational hazards of the painting trade and precautionary measures to be observed.
Good computer, communication, and typing skills
Ability to work from lifts and ladders, as well as work in a variety of weather conditions
