Lighting Technician (2nd shift)
San Jose, CA 95119
This is a 2nd shift position -3:00 pm- 11:30 pm
The Lighting technician performs a wide variety of skilled, pro-active, and preventative electrical lighting maintenance duties in support of clean room manufacturing, labs, office environments, parking lots, and street lights.
Performs routine and complex trouble shooting and repairs on lighting controls, switches, wiring, ballasts, and light fixtures.
Installs new light fixtures as needed, upgrade existing lighting systems to meet code requirements including conversion of out dated lighting to new energy efficient lighting.
Develops PM standards and procedures for lighting to ensure systems are maintained and functioning correctly.
Coordinates maintenance activities with manufacturing and customers. Supports engineering and customer work order requests.
High School diploma or equivalent
Associate’s Degree or equivalent two-year college or technical school. Must have at least 5 years of electrical maintenance experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be capable of reading and understand blue prints, single line diagrams, and/or schematic diagrams.
Must be able to work independently or within a team environment and perform complex duties of a more specialized nature, frequently requiring independent analysis, trouble shooting, and decision-making. Must have good communication and computer skills (email, word, excel).
Must be able to implement standard trade practices consistent with electrical industry requirements and NEC standards.
Be familiar with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and the ability to retrieve PMs and enter PM data
