Job Description:

The Instrument and Controls Tech is responsible for the identification, troubleshooting and maintenance of industrial and commercial instrumentation and control systems.

Duties include building, modifying, testing, troubleshooting, or repairing equipment or systems of considerable complexity.

Performs tasks associated with operations and maintenance of VAV and fan-coil boxes; identifies and operates controls such as EP and PE switches and transducers, control relays, power supplies, temperature transmitters, RTDs, photo eyes, VSRs, proximity switches.

Responsible for backing-up computer databases such as Metasys and security systems; has the ability to complete fire impairments and perform panel shutdowns to Simplex systems.

Conducts intermediate operation and minor troubleshooting of computer and communication equipment.

Maintains inventory of parts and supplies for areas of responsibility.

Trains personnel on preventative maintenance in areas of responsibility

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED

Associate’s Degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school or equivalent experience.

7 to 10 years of experience preferred.

Understands preventative maintenance software and Metasys databases.
