Infrastructure Operations Technician (2nd shift)

This is night shift position-10:30 pm-7:00 am
The Infrastructure Operations Technician is responsible for installing and/or overseeing the install of low voltage and structured cabling for UPT IO.
Installing and/or overseeing installation of MDF/IDF/SIDF components such as cabinets, racks, UPS, PDU, networking gear, server/storage gear, patch cables, and other components.
Installing and/or overseeing installation of conduit and cable tray systems between station side jack and MDF/IDF/SIDF.
All of the above oversight would be of vendors and/or in-house technicians.
Reporting back project status, issues, accomplishments, and resource matters to the IOS and/or manager DCO.
Installation of low voltage and structured cabling. Inside and outside plant in underground, free air, conduit, and/or plenum space.
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
3+ Years working in Data Center and MDF/IDF environments.
Installing LV cable
Experience and knowledge of industry standards in telecom and structured cabling
Experience and knowledge of cable management and fiber distribution standards
Experience with structured cabling according to BICSI and/or Commscope certification standards
Experience in pulling LV cabling and terminating on both male and female ends
Experience installing conduit, hangars, or other methods of LV cable routing and installation.
Technical experience in Infrastructure, Data Center Operations is also required.
