Job Description:

The CAD Operator transforms initial rough product designs using computer aided design (CAD) into working documents.

Reviews engineering drawing and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

CAD Operator II's utilize AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and AutoCAD Electrical to construct and revise civil and electrical design drawings from engineer's or designer's markups to support generating station, switchyard, substation, and corporate projects for the construction or maintenance of electrical utility facilities.


High school diploma or GED

Associate Degree in Computer Aided Drafting Technology (or equivalent) with 2 to 4 years of experience, or 4 to 8 years of experience and completed (30) credit hours in an approved technical program, or 7 to 14 years equivalent experience with no degree.

Good written and oral communication skills.

Experience in the utility industry.

Experience in either Autodesk Inventor 3D modeling or AutoCAD Electrical.

Must have experience using a raster copy to work from.

Mechanical drafting experience is a plus.

Microstation experience is a plus.
