The Buyer will develop and execute global purchasing strategy to create an efficient supply chain and reduce commodity purchase costs.
Will work closely with Global Commodity Leader to communicate strategies and coordinate activities related to strategy implementation Screen supplier markets and identify potential alternate suppliers by continuously surveying the market
Select and approve suppliers
Benchmark assigned commodity, identify optimization possibilities and outline strategies for implementation
Execute comprehensive RFQ process to include development of QFD, source selection techniques, and award recommendations
Develop award documentation that can be utilized across multiple GE businesses
Manage ongoing supplier relationships
Monitor, evaluate, and approve supplier performance through KPIs and QBRs.
Resolve supplier performance issues and track CAR
Negotiation purchase orders/contracts with commodity suppliers and manage prices and terms with consideration of total cost of ownership
Responsible for driving innovation and year over year cost reduction/improvements
Responsible for managing and populating commodity playbook/S2 forecast in Quick Base
Responsible for managing, tracking, and meeting deflation objectives based on S2 forecast
Populate and update all procurement reporting tools according to reporting requirements
Assess supplier risk and develop risk evaluation and mitigation strategies
Conduct analyses of market conditions and trends and use this information to predict future supply needs
Continuously enhance purchasing expertise and knowledge of the local and global market trends
Bachelor’s degree required
