Automation Project Manager

The Automation Project Manager will provide electrical and process automation engineering support to the manufacturing and utility equipment (formulation, filling, inspection and packaging) used to produce sterile and non-sterile pharmaceutical products.
The main focus of the position will be to lead efforts to complete a BAS upgrade and electrical system upgrade project.
Manage day to day automation and electrical team to support manufacturing and utility operations+ design, develop, deploy and test our automated processes, systems and equipment.
Identify, design and implement new technologies and upgrade obsolete automation and electrical systems.
Lead the specification and procurement of new highly automated manufacturing equipment.
Oversee Building Automation System and associated alarm management.
Manage site electrical infrastructure and distribution system -manage all associated third party maintenance contracts.
Oversee site Instrumentation and Calibration program.
Provide 24x7x365 support of manufacturing and utility automation systems.
Generate and execute cGMP verification protocols for modifications and keep the plant GAMP (Good Automation Manufacturing Practices) compliant.
Be recognized as expert with site's production and control system needs.
Generate and develop standard operating procedures and system support documentation.
Clearly communicate progress and issues to peers and senior stakeholders.
Assist in training and mentoring site Automation and Electrical Technicians and other operations personnel
Monitor and trend issues to identify and develop preventative solutions.
Bachelor of Science degree in a technical related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical or Computer Engineering, Computer Science).
5-10 years of Automation/electrical Engineering experience
Electrical Engineering PE preferred
Knowledge about Rockwell and/or Siemens PLC systems.
Knowledge about Wonderware SCADA systems, Aspen data historian, VMWare, electrical/mechanical devices and other software applications are a plus but not required.
Managed, designed or maintained electrical distribution systems, switch-gears, transformers and MCC panels.
The ability to perform or oversee the installation, commissioning, validation and maintenance of integrated control systems throughout the facility.
Must have background in cGMP regulations and the practical application of those regulations to control systems.
